Letter of Support for Renewable Fuel Facility

ODOE issued a letter of support for the proposed NEXT Renewable Fuel facility in Columbia County. If built, the NEXT facility would produce significant quantities of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, both of which are in limited supply at this time. The Oregon Energy Strategy identified a need to expand low-carbon fuel availability in hard-to-electrify sectors to meet our state’s energy policy goals, and Executive Order 25-29 calls on state agencies to support actions that increase the supply of low-carbon fuels. Executive Order 25-29 further calls on ODOE to explore opportunities for public-private partnerships to support building a resilient, clean energy economy.
